Foreclosure rates around the country are increasing at an alarming rate each month and Montgomery County is no exception. Montgomery County experienced 900 foreclosure filings in February and March of this year, giving it the second-highest rate of foreclosures in Maryland.

The Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington has recently released a report detailing nonprofit organizations working with victims of the foreclosure crisis titled You Have 10 Days to Move Out. The report highlights, among many other nonprofits around the region, the Latino Economic Development Corporation, providing services in Montgomery County to help prevent foreclosures and increase homebuyer education.
